A way out crashes on connection to friend
My girlfriend and me tried to play this game on PC. Both meet or exceed the recommended specs.
PC 1: i5 4th gen / GeForce GTX 1060OC 6GB / 16GB Ram / Windows 10 / Steam version
PC 2: i7 11th gen / Radeon RX590 8GB / 32GB Ram / Windows 10 / Origin version
Whenever we initiate an online connection, the game crashes to the desktop on PC 2. No error message. No matter which one of us is the host. It's always PC 2 to crash.
Eventviewer only has one error associated with the game ... code 0xc0000005.
All other games work without any issues. Single player, Co-op, MMO. Steam, Epic and even Origin games.
Tried running as admin, repairing and redownloading. Deleted caches, rebooted, changed antivirus and scanned the whole PC. All the same. The game crashes as soon as I accept the invitation to play.
Would appreciate some help on this. I don't know what to try next.

@batarilo - It seems likely this is an issue with the 11th Intel processors. In reading the notes about the Intel suggested fix, there are some instances where setting the variable via command line is not going to work.
Try creating the environmental variable in control panel instead:
- Search for "System Environment" in the Windows search bar
- Click on the "Edit System Environment Variables" to bring up the System Properties window
- Advanced tab > click "Environment Variables"
- Under the System Variables, click "New" (make sure it's the system variables, not the user variables)
- Enter the following:
- Variable Name: OPENSSL_ia32cap
- Variable Value: ~0x20000000
- Click OK on the box, then close the system properties
- Reboot the PC
