[Bug] Trial only despite having a disc copy (Xbox)

So I downloaded a friend pass, finished the first trial level, and bought a disc copy after. However, despite having a disc I still have only the "Trial" option and the Game says 'Purchase a full game" (disc is inside Xbox ofc). I read the FAQ which says restart the console (I have Series X), I did it many times but still can't play the full version of the game.

@FlowMike94PLGood news. I was able to solve the issue, I did many actions and I am sure that most of them weren't necessary however I will describe the whole flow (read all the steps before repeating them):
1. I've deleted the game (again).
2. I've removed all Microsoft accounts from my Xbox. I had only two accounts (my GF and mine) and the trial version was downloaded from the Xbox store using one of them -- remember not just to sign out but remove accounts so you will need to enter credentials again in order to log in.
3. Login with your MS account on the Xbox (at this step I've logged to only one of the accounts).
4. Install the game from disk (it will show you the message that there is an update and download 43Gb from the internet, only 500Mb was installed from the disc).
5. After I've started the game and it was still a Trial version and not a full version of the game.
6. Sign out from your Xbox account (just sign out without removal) and restart the Xbox. During Xbox startup, you will be prompted to choose your account (the one you've used in step 3) or skip the step and proceed to the home screen. Choose skip so you won't be signed in to any of the Xbox accounts.
7. Start the game, during game startup you will be asked to choose an Xbox account, choose the one from step 3. By doing all this a had a full version of the game instead of the trial one.
P.S. I didn't disable the internet connection on my Xbox while performing the steps described above.

Hey @MrPalich09 Thinking aloud here, but have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling using your disc?

Hey @ElliotLH . Yes, I've tried many times -- didn't help ☹️ Interesting fact -- it always installs 500Mb from disc and downloads 43GB from the internet.

This happened to us as well. My wife and I tried the trial version and decided to buy the disc version of the game. However, it kept on showing the trial version on the game menu even though I have installed and updated the game. I tried some of the things that you did and it worked for me after a couple of tries. This is what I did:

1. Sign out and restart the xbox.
2. Choose skip sign in when xbox starts.
3. Open the game.
4. Log in your account when prompted to sign in.
5. If the menu still shows the trial version, close the game and go back to step 1.

I think it took me around 4-5 tries before the full version of the game showed up. You might also want to check the version you are using. Just do "see in microsoft store" and choose the version that doesn't say digital.

Hopefully this helps anyone who's having the same problem.

Just an update, it went back to the trial version after I quit the game and ejected the disc. It kept on doing that whenever I turned off my console.
I think this only happens to users who played the demo first before buying the game. I read the reviews of the disc version on best buy and none of the comments mentioned this problem. I just did the steps again and the problem got fixed after.
1. Sign out.
2. Restart your xbox.
3. Skip sign in.
4. Start the game.
5. Sign in when prompted.
I turned the disc "resume playback" on and off in the device and connections settings. I also cleared the persistent storage of my xbox in the blu ray device and connection settings. Not sure if these steps helped but the game started working after I played with these settings.

I just started having this problem last night. This morning, out of the SIX times I tried the steps listed here, it worked once, on try #3. Tried it again after that (for science), and it went back to not working. I'm just glad my save file isn't gone...yet.

I've been playing on an Xbox Series X this whole time, and I guess the game itself just doesn't recognize that my disc is in the console. Even when trying to start the game automatically when I insert the disc, it's only showing up as the trial/Friends Pass version. I hope there's a quick update or fix for this soon!

I am having this same problem. My son downloaded the friends pass version and then wanted the full game. I was at work for a few days so they bought the disc instead of just purchasing digital. Of course i can't take an open game back. . . .would like a fix, as the EA help said that it was because my xbox live account wasn't linked to my EA account

Same issue for me and my wife: Bought and installed the disc version of the game on our series X, then installed the friends pass on our One X for us to play together. After installing the friends pass we were unable to play the full game, this since we had to "purchase the full game". Tried all steps described here but are unable to get the full game going....
It shouldn`t be hard to add some code for the game to check if the disc is inserted! I am totally annoyed by this issue.
