If you restart your system with a Clean Boot beforehand does that have an effect? https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
The slowdown sounds to me like there might be some conflict with security software, which are you using?
@EA_David I'm not sure what the error is, it hasn't given me the message the last few times but the slow motion persists. I've tried with a clean boot, reinstalled the EA app+Wild Hearts multiple times. I am on Windows 11 22H2 which I know just had some big security updates which could be the culprit. Is there anything you suggest I try turning off to get it to run normally? Wild Hearts and the EA app are both on the list of programs allowed through the Windows Firewall so if there's anything else I could try that'd be amazing.

Could there be any secuirty software other that the windows one? The slow motion is strange and rare, but when things like this do pop up, there's usually a security aspect to it.
I assume slowmo persists when playing windowed?
If you're playing windowed and open the task manager, can you see if anyhing is spiking up in resource use? - 3 years ago
Just wanted to pop into this thread and note that I have been having this same failure to start issue ever since the hotfix patch on the 11th. It was working fine before, now it does the thing where the game appears to try to start but instead just pops up the EA launcher window for a split second before closing. This is on Steam version.
I've tried all the suggestions in this thread, including a few meme fixes like uninstalling Onedrive and creating a new admin account on Windows, and nothing appears to change. I even tried rolling back to an older version of the game via Steam manifests and it does seem to prevent the game from crashing entirely, although it still fails to launch and instead just shows as running in Steam forever until I kill it manually.
I did reinstall Windows to a new drive on the same day the patch dropped and redownloaded the game from scratch, so that might have had something to do with it? Everything else works fine.

@EA_David I do use Webroot SecureAnywhere which does seem to become active when Wild Hearts is open. So that might be it though at the moment I don't have access to the admin tools for the program.

@EA_David I have good news! I was able to get access to my Webroot settings and shutting down Webroot allows the game to run perfect again. Thanks for the suggestion, I was finally able to figure out why my game suddenly didn't work :D
