Unable to connect to game lobby: players are using incompatible game versions.

Hello guys,

So... my friend gifted me Split Fiction on Steam, I installed it right away and was excited to play... BUT, this message always pop up and was not able to play it ever... this was gifted to me for more than weeks now but I'm still not able to play it... we've searched everywhere for a solution still no luck... My drivers are updated, I meet recommended requirements to play the game AGAIN still no luck... 

The same friend who gifted me the game also has the full version of the game but he is able to play it with our other friends... He gifted me the game so that me and my wife can play together anytime we want...

I hope someone could help me...

    Is that message showing up when you try to boot up the game, or when you try to join a lobby with your wife? If it shows up when you try to join a lobby together, it most likely means one of you has an older version of the game installed and just needs to update it!

    It is when we try to join a lobby... Both of our games are updated... When my wife tries to play with our friends it works just fine... It's only me who can't join with my wife or with friends... Oh yeah, thanks for the response!

    Yes I did... multiple times... redownloading it at as well multiple times...

    01_Siege_12​, do you know how your friend purchased the game? Was it directly bought on Steam and gifted through there?

     Because if it were, their customer support could be an additional option for you.

    My friend bought it in Steam... I'll try looking for the customer support there...

    01_Siege_12​, please update us here on their response if you can. It could help other players facing the same issue down the line. And if they say "it's not us", we could potentially pass that on as well.
