Can't Invite friends on It Takes Two

We can open the game fine, but whenever my boyfriend tries to invite me to the game (he has the full game I have the friend pass) the invite screen is black and only says "friends" on it. He can't click on anything and no matter how long we wait it never loads. We have tried repairing both of our games, deleting both of them and reinstalling, and signing out of our accounts and signing back in, but nothing works. This has been going on for about two months now with no improvements. I'm not sure what changed because we used to play this game just fine with no issues inviting each other and none of our pc setups have changed, but now it is impossible to even play the game together.
