Can't start It Takes Two

I bought this game on Steam, and now I can't open it. Every single time I press play, I get a notification that "Origin has encountered a serious problem and must close". This happens each time I try to start it. I have never successfully opened this game before, so I don't have any experience in what the game should look like. Here are the things that I have done to fix the problem with no solution:

-Start from Origin

-Start from EA games launcher

-Reinstall Steam

-Reinstall Origin

-Reinstall EA games launcher

-Reinstall It Takes Two

-Verify game on Steam

-Repair on Origin

-Repair on EA games launcher

-Run Steam as Administrator

-Run Origin as Administrator

-Run EA games launcher as Administrator

-Completely delete any origin related files and let Steam reinstall it through attempting to play It Takes Two

-Update NVIDIA drivers

-Update computer drivers through device manager

-Turned off Norton antivirus and Windows Defender

-Update DirectX

-Cleared cache on Steam

-Cleared cache on Origin

-Cleared cache on EA games launcher

-Restarted computer (performed this step after each of the aforementioned steps)

I just want to be able to play this game. I can't even refund it since I've spent about 6 hours trying to get this to work and steam counts that towards the 2 hour limit. I feel like I've done everything short of wiping my computer completely and starting from scratch. My computer can run the game, as it easily surpasses the game's recommended specs. I can't think of anything else to do and I'm pretty frustrated at this point. I didn't even know that this game required origin to play, since I bought it through steam, so it really sucks that origin is the one that is preventing me from playing.

  • I am referring to the EA games beta launcher. I know that it was in beta, but I figured that somehow it might work if steam or origin wasn’t working.

I got it fixed though, although I don’t really understand how it works. I have to run both steam and origin in compatibility mode (not running as administrator for some reason as that brings the problem back). I guess I have to run my apps like this until I finish the game and then change it back. Hopefully some future update will fix this.

@Bluearc3us To confirm when you use "EA Game Launcher" are you referring to ITT desktop icon, or are you using a third client outside of Origin or Steam?

@Bluearc3us Thanks for the update, good to hear we found a workaround to get it started. I can share this with the team.
