Controller doesn't work for A Way Out on PC

Hi all,

I just got the game "A Way Out" from a friend. As soon as I downloaded it, we wanted to play the game. Sadly we weren't able to connect a controller for the second player which is why weren't able to start / play the game at all. 

We tried the following things:

1. Adding the Game to the Steam library

2. Adding the DS4 via DS4Windows as an XBOX Controlelr

3. Repaired and installed the game again

4. Connected the controller after starting the game

Sadly none of these options helped us connecting the controller to the game. Does anyone have an idea what we could do?
