Disable split screen?

Girlfriend and I are playing "online" together on our separate systems in the house.  I can not figure out how to stop split screen so we both don't have half a screen on our respective systems. Anyone know how?

  • Hey @DeathBySausage

Unfortunately the game doesn't have a full screen option; this is an intentional feature to help players better judge their timing/positioning in relation to their partner.

I've never been a fan of splitscreen hopefully, one day Hazelight might patch it in

  • I thought this was likely the case but was like...meh they have a find friend button mapping so surely they wouldn't need that since I'm forced to see them at all times....but I be wrong

Yea it's a bit weird but tbh I like that I can see what the other one sees.
But a feature as in portal (press tab to see the other view) would be amazing.

  • I wouldnt mind it but for some reason even though we are local network there is still lag on what I see her doing vs what she is actually doing....doesnt seem to be impacting actual gameplay as I can see her in my window, but I will see her standing still, be like babe please do the thing, then notice in my half of screen she is doing the thing. Super annoying, but we are just going to play off my PC together since we are forced to split screen anyways, kinda lame but game is fun so far.

  • I'm not a fan on split screen myself.

especially in the, a way out game. when you came to the ending part.

and could see what the other was doing.

  • I hope they have an option to remove split screen, we have two separate tv and we don’t need each other on the same scree. And the gaming experience makes it less exciting because it’s hard to see me.

  • You can't turn it off, which seems really stupid when you're given an option for lan play and are both playing on different consoles, maybe you don't need or want to see what the other person is doing in their view either or you don;t have a mahoosive screen just for gaming.

However, this is like the lego games 2 play split screen, it's not a fix, but it's something you might be able to use.

I play it takes 2 and lego games on steam usually with my daughter, Most graphics cards allow you to plug in two monitors (or even if you haven't got one plugged in and enable extended desktop you can move the mouse itno som phanom zone off screen)

My point however, in steam (And it should work with other split screen games) there is a display config you can download called "softh", you simply pop it into your exe folder, edit the text to set the screen size of your main montior and your tv / spare monitor etc, it will then automatically resize both left and right (Or up and down) to fit, so essentially both of your views are playing in seperate monitors like expanded desktop but in different resolutions on each, you can specify which is left and right to show the view you want in the monitor you want.

Admittedly, you need a decent graphics card though this works flawlessly with very old ones I have tested on good resolutions, and also if you only are using one monitor you're rendering things that can't be seen in the other or into nothing (But you can set that to a tiny resolution so it doesn't impact your play much)

    Hope that helps
