You need 2 different EA account to play together, that's why your son is getting that error message.
You cannot be logged in, in the same session with the same account.
If you create an EA account for your son and link it to an Xbox account you should have no issues.
@Zeelmaekers How can I change EA account on my wife's xbox? I don't find any ea application on xbox ore where I can change
