It Takes Two - Data Storage Location Nintendo Switch

I play It Takes Two on Nintendo Switch. I am needing to format my SD card. Will this remove my game progress completely, or is the progress saved on the cloud? If I redownload the game after formatting the SD card, will I have to start the game over ?

  • Hi @KennyMc60, I would confirm with Nintendo support as cloud backups would be supported by them.

However, I believe you need to be subscribed to Nintendo's monthly service (similar to PSN) to have access to cloud backups. Once you are, confirm you've run a manual backup of all your game saves to their cloud system and you should be good.

If you run into issues, you might be able to store the save on the Switch's internal hard drive before reformatting your external SSD.
