It Takes Two will not launch on my PS5

I have purchased and installed 2 different versions of it takes two on my PS5 and neither one will launch.  The 1st version I bought off of the Playstation Store and downloaded/installed the game.  ...

    Just to be sure : you're aware that this a 2 player ONLY game. There is no solo mode. You NEED to have 2 controllers turned on, otherwise you can't start the game and the menu is grayed out. What you describe here seems like you don't have a second controller turned on.

    Cause in your post, you never mention a second player.

    @EA_Barry Thank you for responding. I am going to try that now, but I forgot to mention that the Astros and Guardians of the Galaxy games are playing perfectly fine ... no problems at all installing or launching.
    I just got my PS5 for Christmas, so I only have those 3 games so far. Really sad and quite a bit frustrated that I'm already having issues with my brand new gaming console.
    I'll get back to you after after I do the reboot as explained. 🤞

    Okay, I just restarted my PS5 in safe mode and selected option 5. The 1st time it cleared the cach but that's all it did, so I rebooted to the safe mode again and took option 5, selecting rebuild the database this time. It only took a couple of minutes, probably because my console is brand new and we haven't loaded much on it yet.

    Then I tried to start It Takes Two, and still  it won't launch. Stuck at the same screen as before, where I ask to Play Local and then Start Game. When the 1st screens come up I can hear birds chirping and some music, but that's it. The next screen is frozen none of the buttons work. I cannot start a game.

    Just to make sure I didn't mess up the 2 games that are working I tried Astros and Guardians of the Galaxy again, and both of those games are working perfectly fine ... They both launch with no problems and I can play those games.

    I'm thinking something's wrong with It Takes Two and I should figure out how to return the digital version to the  Playstation Store and the disk version to Best Buy while I can. That makes me really sad though ... we were really looking forward to playing this game 😖

    @EA_Barry I've been waiting but I have not received a response from you since my last posting a month ago! ...it's been a month ☹️
    The other 2 games I mentioned before, still load and play just fine. It Takes Two STILL will not launch. While waiting for a response from EA support, I've Google the Internet many times and tried every resolution suggested ... nothing works. I have worked with 3 different people at EA support, The last of which said they would get the team, your team to work on and fix the problem. Well I've waited and waited and no further response to my issue. Nothing has been done, the game still will not launch. How do I get my money back for this frustrating game that will not launch?

        The string of letters that comes to my mind right now is really too rude to put down here. I got my PS5 for Christmas and the game It Takes Two in early January. This is my 1st console, 1st console  game (besides Astros) and my knowledge was really limited to NOOB status.  I have worked with 3 different support analysts from EA who put me through all sorts of exercises, including setting my PS5 back to default factory settings, rebooting everything, rebuilding the data base ... I mean I could go on and on as I've spent hours on this, trying to get the game to launch. and not one person, NOT one, has mentioned to me, that both controllers must be on  before the game will start 😳 

        Believe it or not, that was my ONLY problem.
