lost in random - game crash lost save

Hello

I have:

PC

WIndows 11

and the game is on Steam.

After game crash when i start the game and want to continue on the 3 slots of save game there is " new game ".

If you go to the save folder location you can see that the save file is still there...

So save file some how got corrupted ... ???

HI @quessar0002 Its possible something happened to cause the file to become corrupted, can we try the following and check if you are able to load your save?

• Repair/Verify your game based on which client you are launching from
• EA App - Repair (My Collection > Tile Dots > Repair)
• EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery) 
• Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
• Close other running applications on your device
• Verify you have read/write permissions to your install drive
• Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows and GPU updates  

Did those things right after the crash.

all test came out "Green".

I can't do nay thing i EA app

like i told before i bought game on steam.

i can only see that the game in installed on EA app, and press play.

and now it's called library in EA app, MY collection i think it was in Origin.

So at STEAM i did:

right click the game in my steam game library > properties > installed files > verify integrity of game files.

The result of that test also was Green.

The game came out in 2021. i check internet i am not the only one who had this issue .... 

So 2 years has past and Bilion dollar company didn't Found founds to release update that would fix this issue by making back up of a save file ?????

On your next playthrough we advise you to make manual back up of save file every 30 min.

So i will ask one last time is there a way to make this save file work or no ?

simple question simple answer.

Or you gonna send me on another goose chase like stand on one leg, make a cactus shape jump around pc 2.5 time and that will make save work.

Thanks for trying those steps and sharing feedback. 

To confirm the steps we have tried so far are intended to help us get you back into the game. The request you mentioned of "make this save file work" can be a broad message. 

If the issue lies with the game itself being corrupted or some form of conflict on the PC the steps I've previously mentioned. However, if the save file itself has become corrupted, there is no way to "edit" the save file to make it readable again. 

As you mentioned since this game was not built to be an online multiplayer, the progression used is a save file that is made locally. You had previously asked who made the game, it was developed by Zoink! - A Thunderful Studio under the EA Originals label. 

While the steps we have tried so far may not have had an effect we can try a few additional steps if you are interested, however, if they don't enable us to use the save in-game then we would need to start a new save.

I am always open to new suggestion.

We can try more thing to see if this will fix save game at slot 1
If not for me, maybe it will help someone with similar problem in the future.

Meanwhile i could start new game at save slot 3.

And we can work on save slot 1.
We will see how it will work out.

Can we go to the save location: [UserProfile]\AppData\LocalLow\Zoink Games\Lost In Random

You should have a save file: SaveData_1.save

Can you check if the file is larger than 0KB? if it is go through the following:

1. Move the file to your desktop
2. Ensure you have full read/write permission to the Zoink Game folder (and all subfolders/files)
3. Delete the Lost in Random folder, Then run a repair again
   
   1. Once relaunching  LiR (next step) if you see your save again try loading it as it may be a cloud copy that works. 
4. Launch Lost in Random and make a new save (I believe you need to get past the intro fight to have it saved) 
5. Close and relaunch to confirm the save still works (it hasn't had the same issue)
6. If it works, remove the new save and place the old one back into the folder location, and test once more. 

If LiR picks up your old save you should be good from here, although you could make a manual copy in case there are further issues. If not, then we would need to create and start a new save. 

While I understand the frustration, this is how the game was designed and we would only be able to pass feedback along ot the team from here. 

The file save is 38.4KB

I deleted the inside of the game folder.

Run the fix game thig. So it basically downloaded the whole game one more time.

It didn't contain save from clound

i played the intro scene to the first save "odds birthday" 

and it's working i can see it and it wokring that save file.

so i copied the old save file to this location. 

BUT no the old save doesn't work now i see " new game" in slot save 1 .

i try to change the save file name from SaveData_1 > SaveData_2 . But that also didn't work.
