Really disappointed that the much awaited patch didn't fix such a simple but major issue. How the dev team ignored one of the highest voted bugs is baffling.
The door is still locked. I even deleted and reinstalled the entire game hoping that the issue maybe fixed even though it is logical that a reinstall wouldn't fix the issue when the patch is already installed.
@EA_Illium kindly pass on my observations and suggestions to the developers if they are still struggling to understand the issue for god knows what reason.
Problem: The door to enter the mines in order to collect the 2 keys during the objective Activate the waterworks is incorrectly set to off(locked) state after the player has already entered the mines. This doesn't happen every time but surely did happen before patch and may even happen now after the patch.
Solution:
- Removing the door to begin with. There is no reason for the door to be there as it isn't a shortcut which needs to be triggered twice like some other doors in the game. The only reason I can think of the door being present is due to lore wise the mines are dangerous and are locked. But this is an easy fix which wouldn't hinder experience for anyone.
- The most logical check that can be done in programmer terms, IF objective is ACTIVATE THE WATERWORKS AND player has 2 KEYS IN POSESSION THEN the door toggle should always BE UNLOCKED. It is a one way door, it could always be open and still not make a difference.
Bonus: Having a single autosave for a save slot is such a bad design choice. If the game messes up somewhere the player is just straight up hard locked making the saves unusable. The devs should have gone for 2-3 rotating auto save slots on a single profile so that players have an option to revert to an earlier state. If that wasn't possible, maybe don't put out a buggy game to begin with.
Tip for anyone with the luxury of cloud saves/save backups. Always keep manual backups for intervals of 30-60mins if you don't want to risk having to start your save over.
These bugs are straight up souring my experience for an otherwise good game. Never buying games day one again.
