Unravel - YouTube Copyright Strike

Hello!

I have uploaded a non-commentary deathless run of Unravel. Now, 14 months later I received a copyright strike from someone with a "@gmail.com" email address and a non-real name for one of the videos.

As far as I know, EA allows gameplay of their games according to their ToS. Is anyone able to help regarding the YouTube legal counter notification for this?

Thanks!

  • kruvik The EA legal team would have nothing to do with this one since its a sanction which falls under TOS and not legal. If EA TOS sent the email, it would have our name and you would just file an appeal. No big deal. However, if this was a video on YouTube, and it was taken down, or sanctioned, then - unless that studio team sanctioned it (which you would know), That sanction would come from YouTube in which it would fall under their policy.

kruvik Over the forums, we cannot not because it would still involve TOS. Depending on who the email came from, it would be signed EA or YouTube in the email itself. That is who you would contact on this one.

EA_Shepard  thanks for the reply! Since I neither know the reason nor received an actual email, the only information I have is the non-real name (not a legal name) and a email address. I can share both here if requested. Nowhere was stated that they are associated with EA or the game studio. I have contacted the claimant but haven't received a response.

I have tried sending a counter notification, however, YouTube does not deem the aforementioned ToS as a valid reason to reinstate the video. I contacted EA Support and they mentioned that I should start a discussion in the forum. Therefore, some sort of written permission would be helpful - in case I am allowed to upload gameplay footage to begin with.

Do you think contacting the EA legal team can help resolve this issue?
