Wild Hearts keeps crashing on loading PC

So, I've been playing the game since release date via steam with no issues other then the known performance issues. I've seen people talking about a fix that just requires you to change your audio from stereo to 5,1/7,1 so I did. And damn did it work, performance was rather good (around 50-60fps give or take) but now every time I try to boot up the game it crashes on the 2nd loading screen. The one right after crediting Koei, Omega and EA and right before being brought up to the main menu. I already tried everything from reinstalling the game, reupdating graphics drivers, verifying files etc etc. Nothing just seems to work. I'm currently at the very start of chapter 2, Anyone else having this problem?

  • I was having the same issues. After hours of doing everything i fixed it by doing this.

    1. Go to your documents folder and go to  "\KoeiTecmo\WILD HEARTS" and make a copy of the the entire "WILD HEARTS" folder somewhere to your desktop as a back up. Do this because it contains your save file.
    2. Now delete the entire "WILD HEARTS" folder.
    3. Disconnect your PC from the internet completely.
    4. Restart the EA now that you are offline. If you had it opened while you were online, make sure to close it then open it again now that you're offline.
    5. Start Wild Hearts.
    6. Be able to get into tutorial and save, then close game and EA app.
    7. Reconnect to the internet.
    8. *Restart EA app and go back into Wild Hearts. Might get error code 4294967266 like I did.
    9. *Close game again.
    10. Go back to your documents folder and back into "\KoeiTecmo\WILD HEARTS" and delete the newly created "PLAYSAVEDATA01" folder.
    11. Go into your backup copy of "WILD HEARTS" and copy over your original "PLAYSAVEDATA01" to "Documents\KoeiTecmo\WILD HEARTS".
    12. Start game back up as normal

You might be able to skip steps 8 and 9. I just added them in because it's exactly what I did.
