Account linking

I lately tried to link my Xbox account with EA account but for some unknown reason EA blocks me from doing so because "child accounts cannot be linked". Im 22 and super confused as to why im considered a "child". Is it because i try to link gamepass that would provide me free acces to the games? 

I did check and none of the problems come from Xbox side so i bet its a problem with EA but i have no idea what is going wrong. Is there anything i can do that would allow me to link my account?
