Can't get Entitlement to EA Play from Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Hi all! Getting very confused here. 😕
The EA Desktop app is acting like I don't have entitlement to EA Play, I have had the EA account for many years and it was already linked with my ancient Xbox account (might even still be the same account, or at least always under the same Microsoft account, but it's changed gamer tags).... current subscriber to Xbox Game Pass Unlimited... Now EA Desktop app is still trying to sell me an EA Play sub and if I go to the linked account management on the EA site it says if I unlink the account I can't relink it for like six months, and it says that I can only have one account linked in a lifetime.
If I try to go into EA Desktop through the Xbox app ("View game on EA Desktop..." button), I get an EA login modal that successfully texts me a 2 factor authentication code, I enter the code, the EA Desktop app launches, and still tries to sell me EA Play! Yikes!
I contacted an EA support rep by phone and they said they couldn't help because this was a "Microsoft promotion". I think they just didn't have any special account linking power to solve the problem.
Does anyone know a solution for this? I just want to play EA Play on PC through my Xbox Game Pass Unlimited subscription.
Got it!!! Looks like everything was correct as far as the accounts, I just had to reboot and launch Xbox first -> EA Desktop second.
Guess just logging into EA Desktop once wasn't enough.
Technology, always just keep restarting things if nothing else works.
