EA Desktop (beta) app auto-initiating and crashing upon startup!

The EA desktop app is crashing for seemingly no reason. Just a couple days ago I was playing games normally, using my Xbox Game Pass for PC account, which as you know, merged with EA play last month....

I realise its a beta app but the constant crashes and difficulty of going back to old startup is annoying
