Forum Discussion
Hi,
For whatever reason, EA has removed their support chat. I have XBOX Game Pass Ultimate, which includes an EA play subscription. My EA account is linked to my XBOX gamertag; no issues there. The issue is that Origin, for whatever reason, does not recognise my membership. I am trying to install Sims 3 on my Mac, and it should be free as I have EA play. Despite this, my Origin does not seem to recognise that its linked. I saw something on another forum that said that I needed the EA app for EA play to be recognised, but I don't have a Windows device. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
MDizza.
@MDizza I've merged your post with the master thread for issues with EA Play content in macOS. EA Play is only available in Windows (and console), and so any content you own through EA Play is not accessible in macOS even if that content has a Mac version. This is by design. Even if Origin recognized your copy of EA Play and that you were adding Sims 3 to your game library, you wouldn't be able to launch it in macOS.
If you want to play Sims 3, you'll have to buy a standalone copy, sorry.

Hahaha. That is ridiculous. I actually did end up installing the standalone copy by getting access to an account that I had like 10 years ago. Still can't play because it's not the 64-bit version. So dumb. Don't know how to fix it.

@MDizza You'll need to contact EA customer support and ask someone to add the "entitlements," as they're called, for the 64-bit versions of the base game and any packs you own. If you're not seeing the live chat option, try this link:
Make sure you're signed into an EA site (this one is fine) before clicking the link and that the location in the lower-right corner of the browser window is set to U.S. or U.K.
