EA Play not activated after linked with XBOX Game Pass

Hi,  I am having an extremely annoying issue with EA Play.  I have just activated my XBOX Ultimate Game Pass that comes together with the EA play subscription. I have linked my EA account with ...

When helping with certain issues, like account changes, or missing rewards, we must verify that you own this account. We want to make sure we’re not compromising your account, so we can’t help out with your issue currently.

 

Missing rewards are not issues we assist with on the forums. You can contact our live support on our Help Site. To request a chat or open a case through email:

 

  • Select the EA App
  • Select one of the account issues like I cannot log in
  • You may get a pop-up that says login and get faster help
  • Select Continue without logging in
  • This should give you the chat/email option

Thank you for getting back to me on this one. 

A long story short, I have managed to solve this on my own, and I have posted a detailed explanation to the crux of the issue and how to tackle it on the Microsoft's forum: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/ea-play-not-activated-with-xbox-ultimate-gamepass/6e44747a-584e-451e-88e6-3fd9a378a167?messageId=9240a2f9-c957-4a87-8dcb-869ec0ae5ec8. 
If anyone has faced the same problem that I did, please feel free to take a read. The fix is rather simple, but might seem a little annoying for some of you.
