Linking XBox Game Pass to existing EA account on PC

I need to link my XBox Game Pass account to my EA account. The EA support guy had me create a new EA account and told me I can't do this on PC.

Hi @IPlayGamesOnPC Apologies for the confusion, unless there was an issue with the existing account, I'm not sure why you would have needed a new one. Once you launched the Xbox app and tried to access an EA game it should have switched over to the EA Desktop app for you to sign into.

Unfortunately, we are unable to make changes to accounts on AHQ, you will need to reach out to an advisor for them to look at your accounts and see what options are available to get your Xbox/game pass account tied to the correct EA Account.

EA Help website - Phone/Chat/Email - Availability may vary but phone or live chat would be faster than email.

Twitter - Select the message icon to get assistance

Facebook - You can select the 'send message' option on the accounts home page

@IPlayGamesOnPC To confirm you're trying to tie your existing EA Account to Xbox Gamepass on PC? What happens when you try to launch an EA game through the Xbox app?

The issue is that I now have two EA accounts, one with EA Pass (through game pass) and one with the games I bought. This account that I'm on right here is the account I wanted to link. The steps "Somu" took me through had me creating a new EA account.
ETA: I will also note that this account is connected to Steam, in case that complicates things.

My EA account was already linked to an old xbox live account (which I don't have access to), so I went to support - as instructed - to change the link to the xbox account I have game pass. The support rep - Somu - gave me instructions that created a new EA account. When I told him that's not what I wanted, he said I needed to have an XBox console to do it.
