Thank you so much, I found that as well after googling around, and it is now re-downloading. I wish I had known sooner, the process was kind of confusing!

FWIW, I was able to use origin via the main website to enable the download with the EA desktop App. They were linked up right away, which was nice.

So if you purchased the Standard Edition and then purchased EA Play Pro, then you won't be able to upgrade it to the Ultimate Edition of BF 2042 (yet). Origin does have that feature and you can upgrade the version through there.
Hopefully this gave a bit of insight and that was some excellent detective work on your end.
