Re: How can I link Xbox Game Pass account to my EAGames account?

I'm having the same thing occur.  No matter how many times I log out, unlink, relink, login, rinse, repeat, I cannot get EA Play to recognize my Game Pass sub.  This is frustrating beyond belief.   I've now been waiting a week on Xbox's back office to figure out what is broken and fix it, after having gone through Seven of their Tech Specialists and 5 Gamer Volunteer Support members.  Sadly, the email I received from the Tech Support manager was riddled with enough spelling errors that it was obvious they do not use form letters and I have to question their competency as a manager.

At this point, I'm about to give up and just boycott the whole thing and no one will get my money.

Same here. I am completely lost and confused with linking EA and Xbox IDs.

I tried to link my Xbox account with signing in using Xbox button but it seems like it just has created a new EA ID and how am I suppose to login to EA/Origin now? I have no password for that account.

Is there any way to link my already created EA/Origin with my Xbox account?

According to one of their chat reps, you can only ever link one Xbox account to an EA account for the entire life of the account. This sounds utterly ridiculous to me as a former Disney tech support, but that was the information I was provided about my account. After a long frustrating discussion, Kapil, my "support specialist" hit me with the canned responses and virtually crossed his arms and said uh uh can't help you link the correct accounts. Don't worry though, he will gladly let his superiors know, without providing a ticket number or anything to me. What a waste of time and energy. I hope you and the others have better luck than me.

  • I dont know if this is the solution for everyone, but I did to get it to work and this is how I did.

Firstly, I made sure I (obviously) had previously went through EA's login page to link my Xbox account with my EA account. I then made sure that I had freshly logged in on EA Play and was logged in on XBGP, with Game Pass open, and EA Play not open at all (not even on minimized on the taskbar). Next, I went onto Game Pass, found a EA Play game, like say Fallen Order, and I hit download. It then opened EA Play, probably recognizing that I was trying open the application via Game Pass and it immediately applied the membership, and allowed me to then download games within the EA Play application. I guess it is twofold, one being sure you have the website side of your EA account linked, and also physically using XBGP to actually open the game you're trying to download. But hey, you know its not a EA application if its either not clunky or doesnt work completely 😃

    Hopefully that works for you.

Your accounts can’t be linked because the EA Account for ****@hotmail.com was previously linked to the Xbox account for ******* An EA Account can only be linked to one Xbox account in its lifetime.

I was told by ea support yesterday, that the ea team are working on a fix for this situation! why does ea make everything so complicated ?

  • Nice, but I can't event find any EA Play from the Xbox app. I am trying to search for Battlefield, and getting no search results back, then "Searching for an EA game? Click here to view EA Play games in Xbox Game Pass for PC" appears, I click it and it just takes me back to the Xbox Store start page.

I linked my Xbox account through the EA website and it didn't register as having game pass until I tried to run Titanfall 2 from the Xbox app, which in turn opened EA Play beta and ran the game.

Now If I go direct to the EA Play app, it'll run any EA Play subscription game and shows "PLAY" next to my gamer tag.

However, if I open Origin, it tells me I have to renew my EA Play subscription still.

Is this by design to force people over to the EA Play app or have I somehow confused the system?

  • I cant even get it to link to any game< it stays at 0% for around 10 seconds
