Hey! Just fixed a similar issue with a deactivated account. I created a new EA account but was not able to link it to my PSN because the old account was still linked. The only way to unlink is to have access to the account, but they changed the email address to something like *****[edit: email address removed] which means I couldn't get into the account. The only way to resolve it is via live chat with an advisor. I don't know why this moderator is telling you their advisors aren't able to unlink or delete accounts because they just did that for me. It's really hard to access the live chat, so I'll save you the headache.
Tap live chat, wait in the queue for a while, then explain your situation. Tell them you don't care about the old account and just want to link a new account. Worked for me!
