Renewal Price Confusion!

I paid for 1 month of EA Play in mid July for $5.99, however...EA is telling me that the renewal price for the next month is only 99 cents?

Am I only going to be charged 99 cents for the next month? If so, why?

Or am I going to be charged $39.99 for a whole year?
