Don't worry, you won't have to subscribe to EA Play if you don't want to. What is happening is that we are rolling out new benefits to the EA Play subscription, and we are introducing our EA Desktop app. You can still continue to play on Origin, or you can sign up to the EA Desktop app beta if you're interested to see how ti works.
Your games that you've purchased on Origin are yours and are not going anywhere, you will still be able to play them 🙂 Feel free to also take a look at the EA Desktop Beta FAQ.

- Nope! Any games you've downloaded through Origin will be ready to launch through EA Desktop.
