why does ea take money from my card before paying?

Hello!

today i was about to pay for my ea play membership and I had to update my card ( entering the 3 digit number from behind) and when I did that, they took around 2.6 USD from my card and 1 minute later they took the same amount too! before paying for my membership!!!
