How to join an EA Playtest
EA Playtests have limited spaces available, so only some people are chosen to take part. If you aren’t chosen, our advisors can’t help you join with a replacement code.
To join an EA Playtest, you’ll need to:
- sign up for EA Playtesting
- keep an eye out for application emails for Playtests you’re eligible for
- if you’re invited, sign in to your Playtesting account and fill out the screener or questionnaire
- wait to see if you’re selected.
To qualify for EA Playtesting, you may need to meet specific criteria based on the game or platform. Your eligibility is only confirmed if you receive a follow-up email with instructions on what to do next, including when and how to join.
Getting a signup email doesn’t guarantee a spot. It just means you’ve been invited to apply. If you receive an invitation, make sure to apply with the same email address the invitation was sent to.
If you see a message that you’re in line when trying to sign up, sign-ups are temporarily full. You can wait or try again later.

If you don’t have an EA Account, you’ll need to create one.

What’s beta testing?
Video game developers make games in a series of distinct stages, often called something like alpha, beta, and release. You might also see terms like “limited regional launches” and “playtests” depending on the game.In the beta stage of game development, the game is functional and playable with most of the content, features, and game modes. The beta version might include one or two playable characters, a demo mission, and some online multiplayer experiences. Developers use betas to collect player feedback, fix bugs, and improve connectivity before a game is officially released. There are two types of beta tests.
- Closed betas: a restricted beta test you have to be selected to join.
- Open betas: a beta test anyone can join.
What’s a Playtest or beta code?
