A new Pitcoin system

This idea came up into my mind earlier, and I thought I would let everyone know.

Since the Podium Pass requires a LOT of XP to max out, and therefore takes tons of time grinding for XP, and since you get almost no XP from anything, even with 100% races, I actually have an idea for a new business model... At least if EA SPORTS agree with it and don't simply ditch it because it's not lucrative enough. But especially for Casuals that don't play F1 games regularly or don't have a lot of time for gaming, this is a very important idea. Also, it's an idea that Codemasters could integrate into F1 2020, their last F1 game...

If new customization options arrive, and I hope that a big load of new customization options like liveries, suits, etc. arrive in F1 24, then there is a way to actually reward players for just playing the game without them having to grind for several hours to earn one Podium Pass level.

My idea is to entirely scrap the Podium Pass and make all customization options available through the item shop. This new item shop in F1 23 is really good, as nothing goes away, and you can purchase it whenever you want if you have the necessary Pitcoins for it. But that's the problem. Pitcoins are very hard to come by unless you spend hundreds of bucks for just a handful of coins.

So here's my idea:

  • For every lap you drive in any session, you earn 50 Pitcoins.
  • For the fastest lap in any session, whether it's Practice, Qualifying or Race, you earn a bonus of 100 Pitcoins.
  • For a podium finish in a race, you earn a Pitcoin multiplier based on your position (1.5x for 1st, 1.25x for 2nd, 1.1x for 3rd) and multiplies the Pitcoins you earned from driven laps. This way, players can earn more Pitcoins the longer the race is, so it pays off more if you win one 100% race as opposed to winning four 25% races, as you do fewer laps, and therefore the payout is lower.

This way, players get rewarded for simply playing the game, and the longer they play, the more customization options they can unlock. And if F1 Life returns, it would be great to have this system, as no one pays real cash to unlock clothes for their avatar that have no use at all outside of just looking good in a menu. Sure, this makes real cash purchases pretty much immaterial, but there can also be those impatient ones that want a specific suit or livery right away and want to pay to unlock it, but with a system like that, if you want to unlock a customization option, you gotta have a little patience and invest a bit of effort.

Not gonna lie, the more I describe this, the more I think that this is a VERY important addition, and that this addition will most likely decide the future of F1 games. And like I said, this could also be added to F1 2020 to basically revive an older game for the players that like older F1 games, such as myself.

If you're reading this, EA, please consider the idea, because this can in theory save the future of F1 games and maybe boost the sales, because more people might purchase the game, which equals more income from game sales.

Let's hope for the best.

Nico
