Hi. I just got F1 23 on the EA app. I have being trying to connect my ps5 controller to play via bluetooth however that doesnt seem to work. And when I try run the game through steam it doesnt do much either. It only works sort of when I connect using the wire it keeps disconnecting but I know the wire and the controller is not the problem. Does anyone have any solutions

It would appear you have purchased the game on EA app and Steam? Therefore PC platform.

your PC will need Bluetooth hardware. Please also be aware you may need to update your PC firmware and PS5 controller firmware and/or drivers.

nah i got the same problem i got the game thru xbox pass and straight to ea but controller aint connecting

Can't offer much more advice than to the previous poster as I neither have the PS5 controlller or GamePass and have the game on Steam.

@Celesti789 @peep_Ozi if you are running Windows 11 can you try installing the 2024-01 KB5034204 Update Preview?
I recommend opening through steam big picture and opening EA app there and controller will work..

I don’t. The EA app and Steam are different platforms.
Historically there have been issues with Steam controllers and this game. They are all history now as the old Codemasters forums are offline.
I do a fair bit of troubleshooting and bug replication, but I find the whole Steam ‘Big Picture’ setting disagreeable. So disagreeable in fact, I’m not even inclined to try this.
If the controller is enabled in Windows and it’s Control Panel, you’d expect it to work (I will be posting such a bug). Big Picture is just another Steam client issue. I’ll even drop the “disable Steam overlay” received wisdom trope in there.
My suggestion is to correct a known issue in Windows wrt Bluetooth. Feedback would be helpful as I can’t replicate or prove / disprove because I don’t have the hardware.
Even at best, the suggestion is a poor workaround.
