I've had exactly the same happen just now. I got taken out in lap 2 on Baku and did not want to wait the whole race as I wanted to just play.
It's ridiculous that you get punished twice for leaving after someone purposely takes you out to begin with, but okay..
And now I've got the same issue. I can't connect to F1 world anymore. I saw somewhere that it may resolve next week when the ranks reset. But in all fairness it's starting to become a struggle to enjoy the game with all the issues prior and present. If I can't connect tomorrow I'm going to try and reach out directly to support.
Not being able to play is becoming increasingly frustrating.
