I also encountered this today.
I finished a Canadian GP (50% distance) in My Team, came first. +6.536 ahead of Perez. +8.559 ahead of Verstappen... the game ended up saying that I'd finished the race in third and -7.272 behind Perez in P1.
How do I finish 6.5 seconds ahead of Perez in-game but after the cutscenes, I somehow lose 14 seconds and "finish third"? I also got awarded the 16 points for third place. I was penalty free too.
I also ended up having a red flag that saw Bottas crash out at the turn 12 hairpin, and after the restart, I had an immediate red flag again for no reason. I believe this to be a cause, but haven't been able to replicate a red flag again to test this hypothesis.
