Is there a new way CM want us to use to set AI for career mode?

I ask because it seems the short qualifying in GP mode doesn't work this year.

I have done all tracks in GP mode and got 83 as an average, but started a driver career on 81 and found it too easy. (not 83 because AI had a 0.3 fluctuation, so I minus 2)

Bahrain on GP mode came to 84, in an AlphaTauri with Yuki as teammate.

I out qualified him by 1.7 seconds then beat him by 48 seconds in a 20 lap race.

So it's obvious that the AI aren't the same between the 2 modes.

Edit: just to make it clearer. Bahrain on GP mode came to 84. Then in driver career in an AlphaTauri with Yuki as teammate.

@ScarDuck14 It's 87+5 for facilities boost. Hamilton is only 91 in GP mode, so shouldn't be that much difference TBH.

@DRudd13 Sorry fella a little lost. In GP mode drivers don’t get facilities boosts. Only in career modes.

@ScarDuck14 Yeah Yuki's is 87+5 in driver career while Hamilton's is 91 in GP mode.

Just done another driver career qualifying on level 99 with Hamilton as TM at Bharain so he'll be 100 with default set-up and beat him by a tenth.

Ok Yuki pace seems where you should be looking to match. So you’re right there.

I set Ai by increasing or decreasing it by 11 for every second I’m off someone off Yukis pace.

But tbh I’ve only played 100 hours on this years game so far as I’m waiting for it to be patched more before I really get into it. So I can only really go by that.

I would love it if someone had a method of working out what AI level changes we should be making between qualifying and the race. Practice sessions used to be helpful but not on this game. If I qualify on 104, at some tracks I will be able to compete in the race at that number but then at other tracks it is impossible. I know we as players have stronger tracks than others so that does make a difference. But I just want a tried and tested formula where I can be confident in saying that if I qualify on 104, I can turn down the difficulty to 102 and just set that for the season, as just an example.
Any help/tips greatly appreciated.

@ScarDuck14 So that will make the level of 84 that I got from GP mode with Hamilton as my teammate 15 levels too low. And that's why I was asking if there's a new way. Because for a few years now that's the way CM have said to do it.

@DRudd13Ai is easier this year is all I know. How much? I’m not sure maybe as much as 20 points
