No clouds appearing in the sky in F1 2023 on PS5

I have played so many races already in F1 2023 on PS5, and many times it has been partly cloudy in the game where I believe clouds should appear in the sky. It is always just like a bit "hazy" in the sky and no actual clouds at all. Have gone through several weather transitions from clear to cloudy and vise versa and never any clearly shaped clouds appear on the sky. The sky always becomes hazy, its color slowly fades from blue to white to grayish without any real clouds when transitioning to cloudy weather from clear. I don't think this is the intended way for this to be and it looks so horrible. Is this a bug? And if so, can it be fixed somehow? I really want to see normal clouds in the sky to make the graphics look very realistic like in previous games too.

PS. Does anyone else have this same problem? I would like to know if so.

  • Hey @Professor55767 and @RemWal96,

thanks for making us aware. The detailed screenshots were appreciated as well!

This has now been fixed with today's patch and the clouds should appear properly now on PS5.

Apologies, we're not used to clear blue skies here in the UK, and had no live data sets to refer from. 😉

  • I am going to put forth some screenshots next. The reason I even noticed something was up because of all the F1 23 PC clips on YouTube where people had clouds normally and it looked so good. My PS5 version does not have clouds at all. And from all the PS5 clips on YouTube I have not seen anyone else have clouds so far either.

After some testing, I want to note that the same "bug" (bug or intentional) happens in career mode as well as in single player grand prix mode too. Looks like this is a PS5 exclusive thing unfortunately as clouds form normally in all the F1 23 PC version video clips I have seen so far.

It looks like there is a white/gray curtain on the sky and its opacity/pixel density just changes according to weather and clouds do not form. Reminds of smog in real life. Once it gets white enough, the rain might start.

Even the circuit background images have clouds:

    Screenshots below:

This is now taken from partly cloudy stage when there should be clouds but instead one side of the sky is blue and the other hazy white:

Now the next two pictures are from when the sky is now completely cloudy (yet no actual clouds still) and finally it starts to rain:

Again, it is just a constant haze in the sky that just slowly overrides the blue hues and it turns white when cloudy. All actual clouds are missing.

I really would like you EA devs and support to look at this issue, thank you.
