[PC] Split-Screen Controller Vibration Bug Persists Since F1 2021

Hello,

I'd like to report an ongoing issue with controller vibrations in split-screen mode in F1 23 on PC. This problem has persisted since F1 2021 and F1 2022, and it's becoming increasingly frustrating for players.

Product:

F1 23

Platform:

PC

Description:

In split-screen mode, when playing with two controllers using the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows (I've tried it with five different Xbox One and Xbox Series X controllers connected through the adapter), there is a bug with controller vibrations. The vibrations from both cars are being transmitted to a single controller, while the other controller has no vibration at all. Furthermore, at random intervals (usually between 5 turns and 3 laps), the vibration effect switches between the controllers unexpectedly. This means that you may experience your friend's car vibrations even when your own car is on a straight section of the track.

Steps to Reproduce:

To reproduce the bug:

  1. Launch F1 2023 and enter split-screen mode.
  2. Connect two controllers using the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, such as Xbox One or Xbox Series X controllers.
  3. Start a race in split-screen mode.
  4. Pay attention to the controller vibrations during gameplay. You will likely notice that the vibrations from both cars are assigned to a single controller, while the other controller remains vibration-free.
  5. Continue racing, and at random intervals (usually between 5 corners and 3 laps), you may observe that the vibration effect switches between the controllers unexpectedly. This results in the sensation of feeling your friend's vibrations even when you're on a straight path.

What Happens When the Bug Occurs:

When the bug occurs, it leads to incorrect controller vibration behavior in split-screen mode. Instead of both controllers receiving appropriate and synchronized vibrations for their respective cars, one controller ends up receiving vibrations for both cars, while the other controller doesn't receive any vibration feedback at all. Additionally, at unpredictable intervals during gameplay, the vibrations switch between the controllers, causing the sensation of feeling your friend's car vibrations even when your own car is on a straight section of the track. This bug disrupts the intended gaming experience and can be confusing and frustrating for players.

Expectation:

What you would expect to see is the correct and synchronized distribution of controller vibrations in split-screen mode when playing with two controllers through the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows. Each controller should provide vibration feedback corresponding to the actions of the car it controls. There should be no cross-over or interference of vibrations between the two controllers. The vibrations should align with the respective cars' actions on the track, enhancing the immersive experience of the game and ensuring a fair and enjoyable gaming session for both players.

I hope this issue can be addressed and fixed soon, as it has persisted through previous editions of the game. Proper controller vibrations in split-screen mode would greatly enhance the enjoyment of F1 23 for players who love to compete with friends.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we look forward to a positive update in the future.

EDIT: It works on F1 2020, which forces me to keep it installed just for split-screen
