@AndreiStamaYou posted….. . I understand that there are kids and people in general that are not really into the real F1 and they just use this game as any other random game, but I think it is important that, considering the entire Esports and FIA/F1 support around the series, they need to fulfill the demands of the passionate F1 players first, bring the game to sim level as a priority (it IS the "official" F1 game, right?!), AND include the "arcade" mode for the rest of the world so everybody can enjoy it, at any level. But when people invest in Fanatecs and Mozas and whatever, and super playseats, and create content at a very high level (sort of a free commercial for the devs in the end!)... you need to respect and address that first
—————————————————————————
Firstly you’ll find only people who like real F1 play this game. As it’s pretty much series specific. People who dont follow real F1 but play racing games… Play GT7, Forza; NFS etc etc:
The majority of people who play F1 games. Are Real F1 fans but casual gamers. So will play on console on the sofa infront of a Tv. That is where the majority of sales is. But you said those who have invested in. Wheels and play seats and triple screens should have their needs met first. “Elitist statement”
Ideally everyone needs should be met all at once. But that won’t happen. So the game is developed to be a SimCade with easy accessibility so even 5 year olds can pick up and play. Real F1 is just as much as a commercial enterprise as it is the pinnacle of motorsport. But in F1 Money is king. Just need to look at Vegas this year. Plus all recent races that have been added is because that’s where the money is and not whether the race venue is good with a local fanbase.
You said that the game should be made a sim as a priority. So that would mean the minority sim sweats needs must be met. Another elitist statement.
The game will never be made to be a full on sim. Because majority of players as I’ve said before are casual gamers. If the game is made into a hardcore sim it will push casual gamers away. I know many people who have bought ACC but have hardly played it because the learning curve on controller is so high. If the same happened to the F1 game. Only the minority hardcore fans would be playing… It won’t sell enough copies to be financially viable.
FOM and Codemasters vision and direction for this game has only ever been for it to be a SimCade, And in recent years it’s moving more arcade. As it will appeal to more players who can feel like a F1 racer without to much effort. But you only care about sim racers getting a proper sim. And longs the sim sweats are happy. Who cares about casual gamers and young F1 fans. I mean all they do is provide majority off sales - profit- future development budget:
Yes Fanetec can’t make wheels fast enough but it’s not those who are playing F1 games who are buying the majority. It’s sim racers who race on hardcore sims. ACC and Iracing etc. The domain of the actual Elites. Where majority off F1 SimCade players avoid
AC is playable with a (decent) controller, F1 IS indeed simcade right now, it's fine, but we're talking about improving (and the replay thing here is the most insignificant theme!). "Hardcore" (sim) means nothing, another forced term. The correct practical updates we want are doable at this price. ACC is half-price (not that old). We know the problem, yes, but it can be solved from what I hear and see... the world is full of IT and design guys, but this is only about profit. So. Ok, cool. If quality and options = "elitism", ok, I'm "elite" if you say so, fine. The term doesn't do anything to me, nothing to gain or lose and I'm not embarrassed or honored by it, zero. Words. I'm a nobody, trust me, let's move on!
To the point: the game still has problems at the arcade level, 2023 "era", at least by comparison: multiplayer, graphics, modes, optimization, compatibility, concept, drivers, and so on... NOT TO MENTION I paid full price for F1 23 CE, instead of the "loyalty price" they proudly offered for customers that already had the previous F1 versions (I have all of them, full prices, full packages) - not even that, it didn't work for me and many LOYAL players, because of their sub-standard platform, programming, logistics, communication with their partners (EA/Steam...), and ultimately lack of respect! Full price, I'm fine with it either way, this is not a serious life investment, it's "just" passion and fun (the elite affords things like this), I accepted that glitch too!... I'm trying hard to be an ~optimistic guy even though I have NO reason and real resources for it, I try to find interesting things adn quality in everything, especially when it involves my passions, but we're not working toward a better solution here.
Thank you for defining my life, that's what I'm taking from here, I know who I am now 🙂 But that means we're all wasting money and time here, this page is ~useless. Maybe some people learn here how to navigate the F1 game menus or something... LOTS of crying and mindless bad reviews at this level if you browse the forums (and I'm so frustrated by it, YES there are problems, but not THOSE problems! I defend the series paying with my nerves and time, instead of just playing my game and not giving a F about the entire world around me! stupid "elitist" me!). They can't find or have the patience to discover the PLAY button FFS, this is the real level we're dealing with, so we can easily understand the company's tactics and attitude. My elitist brain is disgusted by it, I confess... I remember a time when we were controlling these things with a bulky unresponsive keyboard and a mouse full of dirt, almost zero Internet, and we were stellar, after DAYS of configuring those potato PCs (deep settings: sound, controller, graphics, EVERYTHING just to LOAD the games - that was a game in itself!). Now you say that this generation can't play AC with a controller today, when everybody's born with a computer in their diapers... what does this say, the big picture?.... oh man!..... And I'm an "elitist" nasty F!
So, we'll either quit it or we'll make the best of it. Careful, this entire "elitist first-world" thing of ours might be over right quick, considering the world right now. Bottom line, try and have a bit of fun, that's the main goal! Be well! (for real this time, I'm gone, please stop tagging me, even if you talk about me or my "elitist attitude" case, it's fine; thank you!)
- 2 years agoFinally, I would like to say that those responsible should be ashamed not to have fixed such trivial things as the ultrawide bug almost a year after the release. It's a shame that EA/Codemasters have the license for F1, it would probably be better off with developers like "Reiza Studios" or "Kunos Simulazioni" because they have a much higher regard for their community.

Is there anyway to see if the Devs can check or fix this issue for 24 while the game is still in Beta? This issue and being able to select wet weather in time trial are the two things I’m keeping my eye on for this years title. Fingers crossed it gets sorted out.

Wet weather missing isn't a bug. It's a design choice.
I'm wondering if this wasn't a "metrics" decision.
You might argue the same for ultrawide replays.
- 2 years agoUltrawide support has been available for years in the predecessors, and it is almost the same engine build. What argument could be used to justify this as a design decision, we live in the year 2024?! Even the relatively new “Le Mans Ultimate” from a small independent developer already offers ultrawide support out of the box in the Early Access phase. F1-2023 is the only racing game that I know of that excludes very popular ultrawide monitors, and is a disgrace to its players. Forgive my sarcasm, but now that Codemasters has been swallowed up by EA, they can sell ultrawide support as a new feature, DLC or microtransaction in the in-game store. If it wasn't so sad.....

F1 24 available in 2 days. They really do not care about their product.
