Qualification program too hard, difficulty broken, gamertag always on screen

F1 23 makes no exception : the game is unplayable with controller. Same thing since F1 21.

Inconsitancy between career mode and time trial. I am able to set a faster lap in time trial than when I am in career mode in qualification program : completely illogical I am able to set a 1:31 time in time trial where as in qualification mode I am not able to go under 1:32. When I push the throttle to the max after a curve the Red Bull takes so much time to accelerate.

Until F1 2020 I set the difficulty to 85 in FP and qualifications and 90 in race. Same thing since F1 2021 it's not possible to adjust the difficulty between the FP, qualifications and race. Even if I lower the difficulty to 60 it makes not difference I can't get the qualification program in green. The difficulty is really broken and not logical.

The gamertag on Xbox is always on screen which is really bad for those like me with an Old screen. This overlay with the hud display.

It seems that this will be the last time I bought an F1 game from you. Until 2020 it was a really nice game now the difficulty is completely broken like the possibility to drive correctly with a controller.

  • The cars in career are slower than time trial, also because of worse track conditions in many situations, varying tire temperatures and tire wear. It's intended to be slower, and should be. up until the cars in career mode are developed enough to be faster

You can change the difficulty between those sessions, and you also could in F1 21 and 22. In the Weekend monitor, press the settings button (displayed bottom right corner) and change the difficulty along any other setting. What you can't do since F1 21, is changing the difficulty in loading screen. And that's what I'm missing, too

@Wuffels I do agree with a all of this.

But I will say, there are times with a top 3 car that I run the Quali program, miss the mark by 1 second or so, and it says my time projected to be dead last. Then I go to the actual Quali and that same time is a top 5 or even the best Quali time.

Fwiw, my assessment above was on F1 22. It sounds like this may still persist on the new game.

@allemands311 Yes, Qualification program is far off. With a correctly set difficulty it's not possible to beat the program on a lot of tracks. This year it seems even worse

  • @M1551LE  Fully agree that the practice session programs, race and qualifications are far apart difficulty wise.

In the qualification program I can be 1 second behind the required time, but in the actual qualification itself I could be 1 second ahead of the next car. But seems to wildly vary depending on the track.

Some tracks seem to be pretty well balanced. At least it is an overall improvement compared to F1 22.

Yes qualification practice is broken the time I should achieve with my car that is the worst (upgrade/power wise as I skipped all the interviews upgrades so I am as bad as haas) is usually 0.5 to 1 second faster than the actual pole position on qualification day

And according to the mechanic that should be the theoretical time of the car “just above” mine power wise not the best lap ever that would make me get pole position guaranteed

All the other practice program on the other hand are on the easy side very forgiving especially time wise
