Re: F1 23 Logitech G923 not working / very low FFB

Hi All,

There are a few different issues at play with the Logitech G923 at the moment. Hopefully this will help to clarify what is happening:

PlayStation

• The TrueForce implementation that drives a lot of the force feedback effects is not working. Players will notice very weak forces through the wheel. We have a fix for this lined up in our next patch.
• We are also noticing a lot of crashes for Logitech wheel users on PlayStation. We have limited information for this issue, so if you are experiencing this then please post a bug report so that we can investigate this further. One possible cause is using an older version of the wheel firmware, so if you are experiencing this issue we would recommend updating your firmware in the first instance.

Xbox

• The TrueForce implementation that drives a lot of the force feedback effects is not working. Players will notice very weak forces through the wheel. We have a fix for this lined up in our next patch.
• There is a known issue with the latest Xbox system software that can cause your steering wheel’s input or force feedback effects to cut out during game play. In some instances, this can be resolved by updating the firmware on your steering wheel. However, for Logitech G923s we believe this will require additional work from our partners to resolve. We will let you know once there is an update to this issue. In the meantime, the suggested workaround is to disconnect and then reconnect your steering wheel until the device starts working again.

PC

• The TrueForce implementation that drives a lot of the force feedback effects is not working. Players will notice very weak forces through the wheel. We have a fix for this lined up in our next patch.
• There are some reports of the wheel losing input or force feedback after the game loses focus (e.g. by Alt+tabbing). We believe this should be resolved by updating your wheel’s firmware and getting the latest version of ghub.

There are a few inter-linked issues here, so if you find that this isn’t working as outlined above then please let us know what is happening (e.g. weak force feedback, no force feedback at all, force feedback or input cutting out, etc.)  and provide the following information so that we can investigate further:

• Platform (including whether using Steam or EA App for PC users)
• Wheel model
• Wheel firmware version
• Ghub version (PC users only)
• Pedal set
• Whether pedals are connected through the wheel, directly into your PC or console, or through an adapter of some sort

  Issue: No FFB, can't catch a spin, No track effects, No rumble effects.
  Only FFB that does work is automatic centering which doesn't really do much.

Right...... Y'all can tell us its happening all day,   but when do we get to enjoy our hard earned money that we already know you wont give back to us 

Who do we contact for a refund on the difference between the core game and the Champions Edition 

• Platform: Xbox Series X|S (updated)

• G923 connects to the console directly via a USB.
• Issue: No Force Feedback

You know, it's very frustrating because we pay for early access and it's just not possible to play properly.

It's also frustrating because G923 works in other games. At the launch of F1 22 there was the same problem and the fix took almost 1 month. There was no TrueForce at the time.

Everyone understands and knows that problems can happen. But when we are told that it is Logitech's fault and we see complaints from Fanatec and Thrustmaster as well, we understand as laymen that the fault lies with the game and the game developer.

+1 for this, who do we contact for a refund? Completely mis-sold a broken product and according to the consumer contracts regulations we should all be eligible for a full refund within 14 days.

Has there been any talk about all of the people who paid for a game and paid for early release that doesn't work to get a refund of any kind? Also, thank you for the update.

I had a similar issues with my Logitech g923 on f123. booting into the game with the wheel on xbox I found that the wheel would not respond to any input. When I used a controller to navigate through the menus I could get the wheel to respond however there was not force feedback when going over bumps and curbs. The force feedback was definitely engaged because I could feel the resistance from the wheel however there was no interaction with what was happening on track.

Any update when we can expect a fix?

I have found a way to fix race with everything working.. 

Basically, it's hard explain over message.. you have to go into the game. Or even a track. Then pause the game. Hit the home xbox button that brings up the menu to the left. You'll feel the wheel gwt stiff and won't freely move when you do. Now, unplug the wheel and plug it back in. You should feel the wheel be able to freely move again. Go into the game and test it out. If I don't do it that way. I either don't have track feeling and strong ffb at med to low speeds. Or I have very light feeling of the normal way. This way I said. Did the trick for me to have strong ffb and feel the track imperfections and curbs.

Wheel and Pedals : Logitech G923

Firmware: 3800 (up to date via G-Hub)

G-HUB: latest version as of this post (06/24/23)

Pedals: connected into the wheelbase, which is then connected to the PC

I receive no FFB in F123 with this wheel and pedal set. I did not have and FFB in last years game also and never played it (PC). The last time I had FFb was on F121 on PlayStation. I had the same wheel and pedal set up for this game and it worked great!

Nothing ive done has worked on this years game, nor did it for last years game. I waited for updated on F122 but they never came and I missed out on getting a refund. The only FFB I experience is past 360 degrees of rotation, then it catches and I can feel it. It is not a settings issue with my wheel or FFB/calibration settings as I have tried every combination. This wheel works great on other racing games such as ACC and Forza. 

Hey I found a fix after searching the whole internet.

1 disconnect the wheel

2 unistall g hub

3 go to the registry:  Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM and delete the g923 folder (it is called VID_046D&PID_C266 or something like this, I dont know if it changes pc to pc but read its description)

4 go to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\DirectInput and delete the folder with the same ID as the previous one

5 restart your pc and reinstall ghub

6 connect your wheel, configure it again and tell me if this helped you.
