Re: New update throttle

Maybe just try it? We don't even know which mode was affected by the change. I've not had much time on the game so far so wouldn't be super-sensitive to this but can't say I've noticed a difference personally, but I've not played a career mode yet.

@Ultrasonic_77 we know what modes are affected, it's in the patch notes:

"Realigned throttle application in F1 World, My Team Career and Driver Career modes."

I read that as removing differences between these modes but we don't know which they've changed to achieve this. Hence my comment above.

@Ultrasonic_77 Easy. They didn't mention GP mode or time trial. So, it means that now also the modes mentioned above have the same throttle map as GP mode and time trial.
  • @DavidGG53 does anyone know how it affected the game? I played and didn't notice anything special. Maybe (just maybe) a bit less rear grip.

Before patch I raced Jeddah. When I went to exit at the end of race. I pressed restart by accident.  Exited game.  Just did the race again after patch and finished 2nd compared to 7th first time round.

Managing the throttle feels easier especially through Jeddah’s twisty bits.

@ScarDuck14 I complained BAD that the engine change ruined the handling (I started in Career mode) and the car would rev out on the 3rd block on the start.
2nd gear was too aggressive and as Im an auto player this caused problems.
Haven't played the new patch yet but ANYTHING has to be better and hopefully the same as the rest of tthe game now.

@BadMayh3m Dude I use auto also. But when auto sticks me in 2nd I manually short shift up. Last year was a pain short shifting as all to often the auto gears would drop you back down. This year you can shift up and it stays there.

@ScarDuck14 I get it but I've always been of the opinion that throttle control is a Money skill.
I only short shifted out of 2nd on some start and nowhere else in 22 for reference.
  • @ScarDuck14 That happened to me once in Brazil, where I accidentally restarted a career race. Fortunately, it was just a sprint, 25% race back then, now I'm going 35% in career.

But back to the throttle issue: My only problem is that I still don't have a lot of confidence. My head is still thinking throttle in F1 22 terms. But I'm improving, because recently I went back to Qatar for time trial, and was able to improve my time by over 3 second from a 1:28.8 to a 1:25.7. Still slow, but slowly starting to cook.

@bundesautobahn7 I feel you.. 700 hours i out into F1 22. So where 22 had issues. Muscle memory made my lap times super consistent. And although 23 handling is a massive improvement my lap times are all over the place. But atleast at Jeddah I got plenty of practice on a fast twisty track and second race my lap times were atleast all within half second off each other(tyre dependent) Just finished Australia where I got faster as the race went on. As I got more confident attacking the corners.
  • @ScarDuck14 Ha, I remember myself going away from auto to manual. If upshifting was somewhat natural and easy to do, but downshifting was like how can I concentrate on braking and have to spam on X button at the same time. 😝

@Blackbird90 It’s down shifting that is my problem. Constantly having tap downshift cause my fingers to lock up and then extreme pain
  • @ScarDuck14 Agree. It has made it a lot more fun. Seems to have made the kerbs a bit easier to tackle (atleast on a controller). Better handling
