I don't think this is a season specific thing, but a maxed out upgrades thing. I was doing my team career with AI on high 80s low 90s from newcomer. And everything was going well
till season 4 and a half (fully upgraded car) then my teammate started to beat me.So I decided to run a test at the beginning of season 5, as the first race of the season is the only place you can test anything on my team.
I have had to lower the AI to 80 at the beginning of season 5. I have a maxed out car, joint top but not much between the top 5.
Only just won the race and 32 seconds ahead of 10th.
Then I started a new my team as a contender AI level 80. Joint top car, not much between the top 5.
Won the race easily by 28 seconds, and 49 seconds ahead of 10th. With the same set-up in both races.
With the AI on the same level, the gaps should be around the same, not out by so much.
- @DRudd13 It may depend on what upgrades the to Ai teams such as Red Bull start with in your new my team career. For example if you look at the chassis upgrade table at start off season. Red Bull I believe has a big lead. However from my experience they generally always pick a one stop S/M tyre strategy in 50% race. Where I have to pick M/H or S/H. So I’m assuming they have one or more tyre wear upgrades. Which each tyre upgrade has a higher value compared to other chassis upgrades. So although they may appear to have comparable performance on the rankings. Increased tyre durability doesn’t add as anywhere near as much performance as weight reduction. If that makes sense. They will probably also have an extra brake upgrade which likewise doesn’t add any increase in pace.
- @ScarDuck14 It maybe that, but RB are ahead on chassis and aerodynamics and not too far behind in the powertrain. While the majority of my upgrades are in durability, which have no performance advantage. So I'm still a bit dubious that something changes to the AI when your car is fully upgraded.
