It's not widely reported, but it's cross platform (PS and PC) which does suggest a game bug. The sound behaves oddly in my video it's kind of loud and echoed / muffled then goes silent.
But I can't replicate it the way you've both suggested.
Edit: Are you using two sound output devices? e.g. headphones and screen? I'm using only one, wired headphones on onboard audio.

@SteveJackson am using some turtle beach wireless headphones. I’ll check this weekend if it’s coming through if I switch audio to tv/soundbar.
I also should have said I’m using driver audio mix, not sure if that will have something to do with it. Will check if it appearing in other audio mix options
@SteveJackson did you test it at COTA by any chance? Seems that’s the track both me and @mantazzoLTU have this issue at. I know it’s not a very popular track so might explain the lack of reports if it’s a bug.
I will also test other tracks when I get the chance this weekend.
EDIT: ignore just saw your video, the replay was from COTA so you would have heard it if it effected you.
BTW, I know there is a setting called Spacial Audio or something like that, do you have that turned on?
