Telemetry - no tyre status and odd brake temps - SIM Dashboard

Product: F1 23
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Please specify your platform model. Microsoft Xbox One S
Summarize your bug I use SIM Dashboard to output telemetry data to an android phone mounted to my wheel, and have done with issue for the last two years' F1 games. Whilst they are still mostly functional, tyre status is missing and brake temperature is output wrongly.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? VPHX-BHGE-VRVM-GHEG
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? Plusnet
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Single Player
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start a grand prix from F1 world and start racing. Have a glance at a dashboard that would typically show brake temps and tyre status - and do so when the dashboard is idle.
What happens when the bug occurs? Each of the four tyres, which typically change from green to yellow to red as the tyres wear, is completely empty. The brake temperature appears to be wrong - or perhaps rounded to a single digit
What do you expect to see? Coloured rectangles to represent each tyre - not a void where they would usually be (and are functional in F1 2021 and F1 22.) Brake temperatures that match those shown on the MFD.

Is this a change to the format of the telemetry output by the game, or the output itself?

  • @mariohomoh OK I've cracked it! It turns out any widget relating to the car is set to 'Automatic Style' by default. If you toggle 'Override Automatic Style' and set the style to F1 22 the tyre status & floor damage indicators return for 2023 telemetry!

As for the tyre wear, tyre wear widgets have a 'Reverse scale' toggle, which has solved the other issue. Screenshots attached for each!

    One more problem solved 😎

@HashbrownRolo You may be right on that hunch as telemetry always get updated and some data classes may get either reworked or renamed. Perhaps it is just your current template that is trying to listen to the old data classes and not finding anything, or finding funny values.

In the telemetry settings there's a field for UDP Format. Try changing that to F1 2022 and see if it works?
If it does, then it is up to the app developer or template author to update them to the current format. If it doesn't, then we'll need to wait for more knowledgeable people to pop in, unfortunately!

@mariohomoh Thanks for your reply! I've just tried this out - of course switching to F1 2022 format telemetry makes SIM Dashboard prompt to switch game (from 2023 to 2022) but the tyres will then appear and the brake temps look normal.

I'll have to see what I can do with regards to editing the dashboards for 2023 on this tiny screen - I'll report back!

@mariohomoh OK as it turns out I'm a Muppet - it's not brake temps that are giving the wrong number, it's tyre wear 🤦‍♂️
For 2023 telemetry it's giving the wrong number (so instead of 98% tyre life left, it's 2% tyre wear.)

It also looks like floor damage is not showing either!

I have attached images to show the difference between 2022 and 2023 for comparison.
