Xbox One G920 No Force Feedback After 65 Minutes

Product: F1 23
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Please specify your platform model. Microsoft Xbox One S
Summarize your bug Regardless of what the wheel is being used for, once F1 23 is loaded I have about 65 minutes before a sudden lose of force feedback. It doesn't matter if I am racing or just in the menu screens, once that 65 minute timer is done I lose force feedback. This is not a hardware issue as I have tried to recreate the problem with F1 2020, F1 22, Forza 7, and Wreckfest. With all of those games I can play for hours without loosing force feedback. The only "quick fix" that I have found is to unplug my wheel from the xbox and plug it back in. This issue has become so annoying that I preemptively unplug my wheel before every race. With all of the complaints from people using all different types of hardware this surely has to be a software issue.

  • @Kwik2finishMany of us having exactly the same problem. The lazy response we got from EA was to update firmware, but I expect you’ve done this - and it doesn’t fix the problem anyway. Your verdict is the same as mine - it’s the game - and unlike EA you have actually tested it in a smart way. We did a race with virtually no FFB to prove its not overheating - and the same random loss of FFB happened after around an hour, just like you experienced. Why would anyone think it’s the wheel when it works perfectly well on other games including F1 ‘22? Perhaps if they were told it’s their job to deflect blame away from EA. Tonight my friend and I are going to try reloading the game after each race - similar to your quick fix.

@timinator2014 I feel your frustration. It's extremely upsetting that this issue is still ongoing. I was hoping it was going to be fixed in the first patch but apparently that wasn't the case. Like yourself, I have kept my wheel updated with the latest firmware and the issue is still present. I have noticed, on this forum at least, that this problem seems to mostly affect console players. I am going to download the 5 hour trial of F1 23 on my pc today to test if my wheel will still loose force feedback. I'll report back once I have the time to run the test.

While us players may be able to find "quick fixes" for this issue, I really hope EA and Codemasters can deliver a permanent fix quickly.

@matty0blobber Silly me, I stopped once I got to 23 times. Should have known I couldn't have lasted until 69 from my username.
  • @Kwik2finish🤣 got to laugh haven’t we, gives us a break from crying 😢. EA are laughing all the way to the bank… what mugs we are. Even FIFA isn’t as messed up as F1 ‘23.

Did you have cross-play enabled? Yes
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Plug in a G920 into a PC and hopefully it does it to you as well.
What happens when the bug occurs? Car refuses to turn corners. Can’t compete or play at all. It’s a joke. Weeks in and still not sorted.
What do you expect to see? NA.

As much as I appreciate how far this game has come in comparison to 22, it is baffling to me that issues like this can exist in the game after testing. Never mind that, weeks after release! We are all paying £50-£70 for new games and getting worse bugs! The game is totally unplayable in its current state!
