- 20angryllamas2 years agoSeasoned Newcomer@Irockracing94 Yep, this patch has completely killed VR. I can get into menus but as soon as a race starts it just becomes a stuttery mess with black wave-like artifacting all over the screen and the input just stops responding. RAM usage spikes up a ton and I have to use the task manager to quit the game. Not happy at all about this
Official: F1 24 is an eternal beta that only gets worse with each update. And EA? They don't give a * about the consumer.
It's unacceptable that they are so lazy about making something complete, or even minimally playable without ruining the in-game experience. Their focus seems to be only on these things that don't add anything to the gameplay.
Since when do stickers and car paint jobs (many of them horrifyingly ugly) make a game more attractive? But in their minds, the game is poorly optimized, with rough gameplay and the feedback that they only want to hear (those who are paid to speak well of the game, even though it is a disaster), does not attract more new consumers. On the contrary, it only drives away new ones and those who are already frequent.
@Irockracing94 No friend. You are not alone in this. Unfortunately. We hope that a solution will be found for this annoying and inconvenient bug.
Since the update I very frequent freeze on the game. 3 or 4 time each lap. This happen only on this game since the update. What can I do ?

Accept that you're just an exploited customer and wait for a miracle.
At this point, you might want to consider releasing modding tools instead of churning out countless broken patches. Let the community fix the mess you've created. - fazerinho2 years agoNew Scout
You read the comments, right? Do you really think the biggest problem is the shape of the Mercedes cockpit? Don’t you think it’s a bigger issue that in a competitive league race, the in-game FPS drops from 190 to 20? Sorry, I’m not trying to have a go at you, I just want to say that they can’t even get the basic things right, so do you really think they’ll focus on this?

Curious issue. In Time Trial in Abu Dhabi my son would spin the car and his car would have lower engine power in subsequent laps until he left and came back to it. Any one notice something like that?

Nothing has solved since the handling patch that has actually worsened by a lot everything of the physics, just because whining fans must be listened.
Adjusting the setup does absolutely nothing on the handling or on the tyres. Braking doesn't transfer the temperature from the brakes to the tyres. The understeer is impressive and it's mega hard to adjust the controller and the car setup in order to fix it.
Some tracks are completely wrong, from Zandvoort to Red Bull Ring. In real life they should be quick, instead - Zandvoort in particular - they're slow as hell on some turns.
In other tracks, there's a weird power cut that doesn't depend on the underfloor height. You can set it low, mega high, medium, and do changes to suspensions. Nothing changes on the physics.
The difficulty balance is also completely messed up. It's not a matter of being difficult, it's a matter that in some tracks, the slow ones, it's impossible to complete some trials like the tyres one. You can go slow, dose the accelerator, and still consume the tyres for no reason or just be too slow. It's not difficult, it's just impossible even for pro drivers if they don't have the perfect equipment.
I don't know, I'm mega exhausted with this game.

They completely destroyed the handling for controller players with a patch earlier on this year. It was absolutely fine prior to that.
I think they may have made some minor adjustments in the more recent patches to make the front end more benign without actually announcing it in any patch notes.
But fundamentally it's still far from good. It's the feeling it gives you in the fast corners that feels completely unrealistic.
I'm having to use a steering sensitivity of just 80 with steering linearity set at 40. Otherwise the front end feels absolutely abysmal!

Update 1.16 messed up game loading with Nvidia Surround (triple screen)
Game crashes to desktop when loading. Does not even reach the EA startup video.
only workaround is:
1. restart PC
2. load game without Nvidia Surround (loads in 16:9 ratio single screen)
3. exit game
4. turn on Nvidia Surround (triple screen)
5. load game (game will still load in 16:9 ratio, center screen only)
6. go to in-game graphic settings. set to triple screen resolution (5760x1080 in my case)
7. play in triple screen.
after exiting game. you have to do this all over again to load properly.
