Hopes for f1 25

With lewis in ferrari, this year is an epic year in f1. Never like this year can we have a championship so close with more teams fighting. Ea/Codemasters' F1 must definitely change direction if it doesn't want to lose all F1 fans. My hope is that first of all they take a step back and understand that F1 23 was actually a good game and was a small base to start from. Changing the physics so much on F1 24 didn't bring the benefits that were expected. Replacing David Greco is not an easy mission but I have some ideas about how to make F1 a beautiful and fun game to drive again. Given that Casey is an engineer, an engineer (we're still in the F1 world) tries to make a car as fast as possible thanks to the precious feedback from the driver. It's not a disrespect towards Casey but David was a master at this, thanks to his experience with racing cars he was able to communicate his feelings about how to drive a racing car to the physics heads and his suggestions have been useful in improving the game over all these years. He arrived with his latest work, F1 23, with a very nice game to drive, albeit with a lot of room for improvement, but still a game clearly better than F1 24 in terms of driving. I think Casey needs real feedback, not the fake marketing that is done every year with some f1 drivers. We need a collaboration with some reserve drivers, with an f1 team that provides its own driver and that tests the car in the presence of the entire Codemasters handling department. Test the car in any type of condition, so that the reserve driver can give his feedback to Casey and the entire team. So we could also have a wet weather done at its best, who better than a driver can describe the feeling that there is in the rain. I don't think it's impossible, but if EA/Codemasters wants to regain everyone's trust, they must do these things. The direction of f1 23 was right, with small adjustments, such as a wider setup window, a lower car chassis, less tire and track grip, updated tracks and laser scan, collisions with curbs (which were non-existent on f1 24), with an improvement in the driving model and following in the footsteps of other sims, such as a more advanced dynamic weather, we would all be over the moon. I hope that in the meeting held a short time ago, these considerations were made. F1 has exploded more and more in recent years and we deserve so much love towards this sport, so push towards the path of improving the simulation and not taking 10 steps back. P.S. the old generation of consoles should no longer be around for at least two years, I hope I don't have any surprises this year. Good luck with the new game, I hope this message reaches the team directly. @EA_Groguet

I run an Assetto Corsa F1 league and we currently run this car.  My league is 3 years old and we started on the F1 series game.  Eventually we all got sick of being lied to each year and simply tired of being disappointed.  F1 24 was the last straw and most Leagues began having attendance issues.  I went from 2 x 20-driver grids that were well-attended, down to 0 tiers... so we switched to VRC Formula Alpha 2024 on AC and have never looked back.  Life is better where people actually care about the product they put out.

  • Oh, come on. 22, 23, 24, the physics of driving the car hasn't changed in any way. i have hundreds of hours in every F1 since 2010 and the last 3 parts are the same in terms of driving.

I don't understand why they don't make two physics modes? arcade mode and simulator mode, what's the problem?

"I don't understand why they don't make two physics modes? arcade mode and simulator mode, what's the problem?"

Well two things come to mind. First that would require them to split development time for building/ maintaining handling models which could make things worse overall. Second that's going to split the online community as there would have to be separate lobbies & leaderboards for each mode.

It sounds like Milestone will be trying something like this with MotoGP 25 though, so assuming that goes smoothly and is well received it could put pressure on EA to do something similar with F1.

  • I ask EA if you can insert the career mode for both the driver and team careers, start it with the cars of the 2000s and gradually increase it in development until 2025 for each year you make in your career and for those who don't want to start it directly with the new cars... something like that would be nice, it would be a dream, it could be a turning point for the game... what do you think? because after a while it becomes boring, put more interaction also in interviews make it more real when you give your career even when you move to another team another team put more things

NGL I think it's kinda stupid that everyone criticises the handling since none of these people have ever driven an F1 car

The criticism of the handling in F124 is absolutely deserved. Our only direct comparisons are to it's predecessor F123 which was on a different planet in terms of driving enjoyment. Quite simply they made a complete and utter hash of F124. I truly hope the handling is massively improved for F125.

Well, Mr. Greco has driven racing cars for years. Do you want to compare the work of a driver with that of an engineer who only relies on numbers? If these do not match the driving sensations you can do all the fake marketing of last year, the result will be a disaster. This is why I created this post, we need someone who has driven real cars and who gives their driving feedback to the physics team otherwise this year too we will be light years away from the good f1 23 which however had many defects but was pleasant to drive. F1 24 gave the feeling of being a game that had only one track, as if the physics were manipulated and the car always had a stability control, losing it was impossible. I hope they worked hard on it, the grip of the tire needs to be reduced a lot, the lap times were very unrealistic, the cars must be slowed down by at least 3 seconds not to mention the terrible feeling on wet surfaces. They also have to fix the kerb collisions, which magically disappeared last year, you could attack any kerb and the car would go over it as if it wasn't there, even on sausage kerbs. The job to do is not impossible but it requires maximum commitment and passion from the team.
