Re: F1® 24 Official Gameplay Deep Dive

@mariohomoh I’ve never doubted your love for F1 or these games. What annoys me is your constant negativity and cynicism.

The reason I asked my question was because you’re not the one programming the game. It’s easy to sit back and say they should add this or that or make it like this, but you don’t know what type of time or budget constraints the devs were under, maybe this was the best they could do? If you think you can do better feel free to apply for a job. I’m sure they would love to have someone with your analytical skills and attention to detail on the team.

To be clear, I’m not trying to defend EA, I’m defending the Dev’s who get put in a crappy situation of having to put out annual games without receiving proper support or funding.

I get why [Edit - EA_Barry], I just don’t feel like being dragged down with you.

let’s calm down please. While you both have valid points with regards to the game there is no need for the bickering

The old "get a job and do better" platitude? I should have gone with my instinct then and ignored the question, but even now I'm surprised this is the level of the response you had been cooking.

We've explained why the "all new career mode" marketing doesn't fly. I don't see you delving into the subject with a comparable level of competence.

You even alluded elsewhere that the 3rd season is where the "average player" gets a broken car from R&D? When I originally threw the "3rd season" number around I was being hyperbolic, and the average player doesn't get the issue of a maxed out car by then.

Regarding the quoted part specifically, your stay here would be more productive and healthy if you were to drop this notion that other users are here to entertain or to drag you down.

If you don't think the criticism is fair, the forums have channels to escalate the matter - as you should be acquainted with by now. Trying to smother forum activity down because they're dragging you down is unreasonable and unfitting.

And no need to white knight devs here, or evoke the challenges of videogame development under EA. We've been doing that since before the acquisition when the community would heat up with unreasonable frustration. Keyword here being "unreasonable", which hasn't been the case on this thread.

Edit: @Nuvolarix you even got the icons for the tyre compounds! Haha neat 💚🤍♥️

My spreadsheets always border on the untastefully colorful side of the spectrum. Yours are beautiful 🫶

Wow! Who is this guy? If you were around in the codies forum days you would know we have been feeling the pain for years. With it going downhill year after year, just trying to paint over the cracks.

EA taking over has made it worse unfortunately.

us old timers know better than to buy into their marketing gimmick and youtube fanboys promoting the next copy and paste.

i honestly dont see any reason to buy this installation over something like F1 2020. Especially if the rumors about no modding on PC are to be true.

@ajobling1983  I may not have been on the forums, but I've been playing CodeMaster's F1 games since 2010, so I'm well acquainted with the ups and downs of the franchise. Apparently, my optimism seems to get under a lot of people's skin, but I just don't see the point of giving up on a game a month before it even releases.

Will F1 24 be everything we ever wanted? Probably not, but I do believe it will be better than F1 23. If you want to take a pass and stick to F1 2020, that's your choice and your more than welcome to do so. It also sounds like you'll have plenty of company from other people doing the same.

@ajobling1983 For me there are actually plenty of advantages IF 24 works as its promoted over 2020.. However no modding would suck hard - i doubt that though, probably needs another update to the EGO archiver, still same engine, i really cant imagine they changed it so much so that it will remain impossible..

But way better feeling on controller (at least in 23), deeper setups, much more accurate tyre temp behaviour than 2020, at least better contract system and more things im not counting now, it has its advantages for me personally IF it works properly.. Thats a lot of ifs for such a heavy price tag so its totally understandable that others might feel its not worth it!
  • @Meza994To be fair, I’ve only interested in realistic sponsor boards, since "new game" uses sponsors from past year of F1 season. 😬
