Hello all,
I had posted my settings pictures here, confirming those settings work good for me, and I didn't get any stutters or freezes.
I also clearly told, just because these settings work for me, doesn't mean it will work for everyone, as every system is unique in some or the other way.
If someone tried my settings in hopes of getting better performance, and it didn't work for you, then, I apologize.
I had done 3 quickfire races: Silverstone, Imola and Spain, and these were the races during the daytime.
I hadn't checked it for night races. This is where it gets interesting.
Last week, when the game was in version 1.15, I did a "Short" race at Qatar.
I could see considerable amount of stuttering and occasional freezing happening.
I tried reducing the lighting intensity, but even that didn't stop the stuttering and freezing
Ultimately, it got so uncomfortable for me to drive that, I had to reduce the Graphics to Ultra Low Preset.
I am sure, nobody with an RTX 3070 GPU will ever do this.
I wanted to share my observations, but since there was a patch scheduled for today, I waited for today's update to see if this new 1.16 patch would fix things.
So today, I updated the game to latest 1.16 version, and I redid the Graphics settings.
I deleted the hardware settings folder and set my Graphics Settings same as what I posted on this post.
I did a "Short" 15 Lap race around Abu Dhabi, and I was surprised to see even more stuttering and freezing.
The stuttering is so bad that one particular lap the race felt like a slideshow.
My laptop fans were blasting air at full speed, GPU getting utilized properly, and yet there was so much stuttering happening.
I tried reducing just the lighting intensity, and it stop, nor reduce the stutters and freezes.
I reduced the graphics preset from my Custom to High, no improvement, I turned down to Medium and it was stuttering even in Medium Graphics Preset.
Ultimately, I lost and set the Graphics Preset to Ultra Low and finished the race.
Stutters do exist in Singapore and Qatar as well, but Abu Dhabi track in particular is very poor in terms of performance.
Places where stutters happen in Abu Dhabi: Straights, turn 2,3, hairpin, long DRS straights, below the hotel turn, and final corner.
@CM_TGK, Hope you know how an F1 game should perform. Hope you realize even in a game, every gain or loss even in tenth of a second can change the races, just like real world.
The way your game works right now with abundance of stutters and freezes, every player no matter how rookie or seasoned they are, they will lose a ton of time or even loose the race.
No one, I repeat no one cares about the nuisance things you waste your time, energy, efforts and resources on Season Pass and F1 Live things. They are totally unnecessary and not required in the game. The loyal fanbase of this game has been always asking for a game that is stable, performs better and is bug free.
Hope you realize that we are not your for free pre-Alpha, Alpha or Beta testers. We are your paying customers. We are the people who play the game you make.
And as paying customers, the least you should do for us is to deliver a stable game, that performs better, free of bugs and constant stuttering and freezing.
You and the entire EA team need to roll out an immediate hotfix to address these stuttering and freezing issues.
This stuttering and freezing issues are so bad that they literally kill and spoil the mood to play the game. It feels depressive the way the game stutters and freezes, and this is totally unacceptable, and it is not customer friendly whatsoever.
If you think that F1 game customers are diverse when it comes to the type of hardware we own, and you are not willing to troubleshoot and fix issues reported by various hardware owners, why not give us a settings preset. Provide us with fixed parameters in Graphics Preset, that ensures that RTX20XX, RTX30XX, RTX40XX, AMD GPU users need to use in order to get a stable and stutter and freeze free performance.
If you think it is impossible for your team to fix these game stutters and freezes, and if you think it is waste to time and resources to fix this most common and repetitively reported issues, then always remember, we are your paying customers. We paid for this game, and you cannot release a product that is so close to being deemed as non-playable. It is your job, duty and responsibility to fix these issues reported by the players.
@CM_TGK, Despite me telling you all this, if you still cannot fix these issues at the earliest, then the entire EA and the Codemasters need to issue a public apology and immediately expedite the process of refunding the money to the users who are facing this issue.
