    Hi folks,

    thanks for your continued input. With the new upcoming 1.7 patch on Monday, we are addressing the issues with DRS trains. Specifically, adjustments have been made to Slipstream and DRS values to help overtaking and reduce AI trains.

    Please let us know after the patch on Monday if you see a noticeable improvement!

It's extremely poor to say the least. I hope this game breaking issue can be resolved quickly, however I think something like this may take some time to be implemented.

Some excellent points on this thread as to why we are having the DRS train issues. All of which make perfect sense.

For me personally, make the performance gap between the teams more realistic and reduce the power of the overtake function. Which I think may be the main issue.

Adjustments to the DRS may also be required. Do we also need a hotlap deployment too in the races?

For me, just have medium overtake (reduced) and off to recharge. And keep hotlap for qualifying only.

Question is what kinda solution do people want? The realistic one or another arcady/gamified solution?

The realistic version would be more struggle with tyre temps, engine temps, downforce loss in dirty air, differing tyre/engine temps for each team resulting in different race pace also 130bhp higher engine power so that overtake isnt as effective and somewhat nerfed ERS recovery.. No changes to DRS as its the most accurate it has ever been.

    i am sorry for you guys. I am happy and proud of myself that i didnt buy it yet. tbo i even dont bother when they will fix it...i just know that i am not gonna buy it until the game works....if that need time until its cheaper or in sale, it is what it is. Imagine you buy a new car for full prize and they give you the forth wheel 6 month later :D

    anyway, i hope it get fixed very soon! Seen it in every yt creator career mode gameplay. it unplayable

      Personally I can't see them implementing proper dirty air or high temps etc. So i'll take anything to just get shot of the boring drs trains. Every race ends up with you racing on your own as the ai can't escape the drs train. 

      This hasn't been a issue in previous games so this ers change may have been the trigger. 

      Surely any of their testers could have picked this up pre release. I tried to bring it up in the beta but clearly they don't read the feedback. Or don't see it as a priority

        I've played 16 hours so far, nearly all in career. 

        In that time I've had:

        • No yellow flags
        • No virtual safety car
        • No safety car
        • No incidents reported on the incidents screen in race director
        • No red flags
        • No mechanical issues
        • No DNFs from any car
        • AI consistently forms 1 or 2 DRS trains and is incapable of overtaking

        Career mode is 100% broken. I have set safety car and red flags to 'increased', and still have not seen a single one. In 16 hours, with 35% race distances.

        This absolutely needs to be addressed by a patch as soon as possible. It's unplayable in its current form. Nothing happens in a race, and the AI is incapable of overtaking. 

        I don't understand why these issues are not being listed as being investigated in the community-raised issues thread. It should be the top priority for the dev team.

      Can this be added to the community raised issues as I won’t believe it’s actually being looked into until this is done. If the game was made with the correct procedures then this issue wouldn’t have materialised in the first place.

        I don't know why pointless tiny bugs are listed there like Haas and Ferrari having the same colour on the mini map but they don't list the AI in career mode and my team being totally broken.

      Please add it to the community raised issues at least to show us that you acnowledge the bug, its currently the biggest bug that ruins the experience of 40% of players

      How is DRS/ERS trains still only at “investigating”? Maybe in future the game should be released in July/August instead of releasing a game with terrible AI.

        @AMPotter19 Some people want it to release even earlier with perfect handling, perfect car performances that wont diverge from the real life results while the devs only get a bit of winter testing to base it on.. GG

        Fully agree with you, later releases were better games in the franchise.

    @Meza994 I agree that all that realistic changes should be implemented, but I have a feeling that the AI still does not struggle with tyre temps and engine temps. Just by looking at the AI easily running dry tyres in wet conditions without any sliding means they are not affected. And this has been a problem for a long time now.

      @TomasSlb24 I know that they DONT. Tested it.. Was just pointing out that this needs to be implemented for properly realistic results 🙂

        @Meza994 Yes of course, I do agree as well. It does not make any sense to have engine temps, tire temps and a lot more dirty air effect compared to the AI. I'm actually not sure how this things are so hard to implement, knowing this issues have been in the game for years and they don't seem to try changing it.

      I've had this issue in all 4 races now. There were 3 DRS trains in Race one except the redbulls who were clear ahead so they didn't get caught up. 

      In the second race there were 2 DRS trains. By Australia I started really noticing the issue. If there is a train of more than 3 cars what happens is the 2 lead cars battle it lap after lap whilst the rest just sit behind at a certain speed. I think someone noted it before I think its because the AI are deploying the battery exactly the same way so there is no variation. That and the AI seemingly don't get affected by dirty air I had Leclerc behind me for 20 laps yet his tyres were in better condition than mine and I had been running in free air in a mclaren.

      I also noticed the AI ha e OP traction in damp conditions when trying to set a lap while it was raining the inters were too slow but all the AI had perfect traction out of corners whilst I was dancing amd fighting the steering wheel like it was a tango dance.

      I hope this gets fixed because until it is I can't see the enjoyment of racing. I'm actually getting use to the handling it's the DRS trains and over the top ERS deployment that is making it annoying. I think the recharge is way to quick.

      I swear there is something in the regulations that says you can deploy 2MJ per lap but only harvest 1MJ so if you drain the battery you shouldn't be able to recharge it in one lap. 

      Increase ers variability to the AI, buff the dirty air affect on AI and also nerf the battery recharge rate and I think you'll fix the majority of the issues.

      @TomasSlb24 I completely agree with you, for years in F1 games I've been noticing that the AI ​​doesn't suffer from tire wear, temperatures and lack of grip, and mainly lack of grip during acceleration, this really makes the experience bad, because you don't put everyone on equal competition, I feel like I'm always at a disadvantage, this needs to be urgently corrected, the AI ​​needs to stop being so atumatic and be more dynamic and suffer from the physics of the game.

        @RgramiscelhiI do believe they suffer from tire wear, you can see it by the time drops and how fast you can catch a car when you have newer tires. But I believe they do not suffer the same way as we do, mainly because they don't suffer from tire temperatures like the player. That's why we struggle a lot more in changeable conditions, if you have intermediates in a drying track, they will start to overheat and consequently wear more and will feel harder to handle the car, but the AI don't get that rise in temperatures, and so they don't struggle as much.
        And the grip is clearly other problem, they rarely seem to get much oversteer or understeer, thus helping them in maintain tire wear.
