F1 24, Lags bad after mid-session save,

I know the game is an older version, but let me get to the point. I’m playing in a team career mode and participating in a 50-lap race. About 25 to 30 laps in, I decided to take a break. When I returned about an hour later and loaded the game, it was very laggy. Any help would be appreciated.
