Forum Discussion
Hi @EA_cuervo , thanks for reaching out.
The troubleshooting steps don't help unfortunately. The game struggles to connect to the internet services and automatically closes.

edit: nope, the forum completely refuses to let me attach the XML files even though I've deleted the ".xml" and added ".txt". I've been trying for 15 minutes already, it shouldn't take this long. I have stuff to do.

I have the exact same problem ever since 1.16 prior to the last update game has been working flawlessly since released,
Now loads into splash screen then main screen tries to communicate with online services then everything Freeses up,
And dumps you back to the EA app,
What have they done sure now how to wreck a good thing spent 12 hours doing all the trouble shooting,
Exploit protection,
Rolled back graphics card drivers,
Fires walls,
updated every other driver windows, peripheral etc, unplugged everything from pc.
Tried running F1 2023 first,
Checked every setting known to man,
Deleted and reinstalled EA app (The game worked for a short period but only because the server was down for maintenance done a few time trial laps around Saudia Arabia as soon as the server came back online game was crashing again every time on start-up,
You need to release another patch to fix this mess,
CPU 13700K GPU 7900XTX so more than capable of running the game,
Wheel is simagic alpha base with fx wheel,
Fanatec V3 pedals,

Guys in our league, we have managed to fix it and it seems it is working for everyone. Add F1 game and EA anticheat to exclusion of your antivirus. Everything works fine after that.

JanKondler's solution solved my situation, it seems. For now, it's working (even though connection still takes long).
For Windows Defender users (which is default on Windows 10 and 11):
- open the antivirus
- on the left side, Protection from virus and threats (I use another language, I hope it translates properly in English)
- under Protection from virus and threats Settings, click on settings- all the way down on Exclusions, click on Add or remove exclusions
- add the game folder
- open the game and checkHonestly, this is just a workaround and EA should try in order to make the game work with antivirus.
It's pretty annoying that the game cannot work on Steam Deck and Linux systems because it has a kernel-level anti-cheat system and then I have to exclude the game's folder from an antivirus.
